What refusing those programs buys you

A shop inside a Direct Repair Program agrees to that carrier's pricing and repair guidelines in exchange for a steady stream of referrals. The referrals are worth real money, which creates a quiet pressure to keep the estimate agreeable.

We took ourselves out of that. It costs us volume and it means nobody is leaning on us to section a part the manufacturer says replace, or to skip a calibration because it is a line item somebody would rather not pay.
